It was a beautiful Spring day with a light shower just prior to the ceremony.
The wedding inspiration was timeless, classic elegance. The bride's favorite color is green and her bridesmaids wore short dresses in a spring-green shade. Pink accents were incorporated throughout the bouquets.
The bouquets were beautifully arranged by a dear family friend in conjunction with a florist. The arrangements were arranged with white hydrangeas, vendella roses, larkspur, bells of ireland, mixed greenery and accented with curly willow.
The bride wore her mother's heirloom veil which was trimmed in lace. Also, the bride wore a recreated version of her mother's wedding dress for her bridal shower. The brides bouquet was wrapped in lace from her grandmothers wedding gown.
The couple's first dance was to Crazy Love by Van Morrison. The bride and her father danced to September by Earth, Wind and Fire as it brought back fond memories of dancing together during Mardi Gras festivities. The groom and his mother danced to Love Me Like a Rock by Paul Simon.
The cake was made of 4 smooth round layers with beaded trim on the border and accented with hydrangeas and roses. The grooms cake was chocolate cake with chocolate icing and was decorated with the LSU Blue Dog screen print by George Rodrigue.
A special aunt to the bride made pralines which were given out as favors. The favors also included miniature bottles of champagne accented with a spring green ribbon and a special message from the couple.
The couple honeymooned in Playa Mujeres, just north of Cancun, Mexico.
