News Anchor Announces 'Breaking News' of Her Own Engagement Live on TV
Jillian Pavlica, a weekend news anchor with FOX54 in Hunstville, Ala., was put in the unique position of announcing her own engagement March 16 — before she even had the ring!
Before a segment during Saturday's 9 p.m. news, Pavlica's producer Dana Conley told her there was some breaking news and to just read the script that Conley had put into the prompter. Pavlica proceded to read:
"We've got breaking news to share with you tonight. FOX54 has just learned that a Huntsville news anchor is being proposed to on live TV right now!"
Pavlica got to "proposed" before figuring it out, at which point her now-fiancé Vince came ono the set, dropped to his knee and proposed. Check out the video, then check out a pic of the ring posted to Pavlica's Twitter page.
